Day five and we have a mix of terrain to follow some forest, button plains and yes plenty of hills. After a slightly late start getting some coffee we got into it with vigor. |
Slightly out of sequence but during the day we came across the loggers setting up for a big burn. They block the area off and then drop incendiary stuff into the logged areas. |
| This is the results as seen from Dover a huge smoke pall which block out the sun for a couple of days. |
We did find some cattle grids to cross but by now they don't seem so formidable. This one certainly had a big gap between the rails. |
| Fine looking bunch. |
Healthy robust middle aged, just about convinced we can make it to the end of the trail. |
| Down there and its almost over. |
Of course there are still the odd navigation differences to sort out and trail makers that point every which way but up. |
| The last of the sandstone not quite as good as the day before but "Swearing Bob's" plain had some interesting sections. |
More double single track through the forests. |
| Finally the ocean, from Devonport to Dover, two trips but it got done in the end. The view from the hill where we came out had a lot of us lingering for a while. |
